Percy Ficathon Recs
Here's my last pre-reveal edition of Percy Ficathon recs. I still have a few fics to read, but I wanted to put together a master list of my recs from the fest, for the sake of organisation, and put up the ones I read today. This fest deserves more love (and more recs! Am I seriously the only one doing it?), so please read and comment! Above the cut recs are new, under the cut older ones are organised. Later I'll put them all under categories and tag this post for each searching.

Locker Room Longings by Anon at the percy_ficathon. Charlie/Oliver, Percy, Rated NC-17. Kinks: VOYEURISM, WANKING, BLOW-JOBS, UNDERAGE

Summary: When Percy goes to congratulate Oliver on a Quidditch victory, he finds his dorm mate in a compromising situation.

Dude. I got TWO gift fics. Like, zomg. And this, so much like my first, fits my prompt request so perfectly! I mean, Charlie/Oliver = HOT, and Percy watching? Self-explanatory, really!

Five Bad Days by Anon at the percy_ficathon. Percy/Cedric, Rated PG-13.

Summary: Some bad days are worse than others.

Wow. I have completely spoiled by all the wonderful Percy/Cedric fic in this fest, a pairing I'm not sure was even written before (I've never seen it). And this is just lovely. Nothing beating "missing moments" for me, and this features five both sweet and bittersweet vignettes that are just that. The style is simple yet full of detail and it is just so worth a read.

Bravery by Anon at the percy_ficathon. Percy Gen, Rated G.

Summary: True bravery is shown by performing without witness what one might be capable of doing before all the world ~ François de la Rochefoucauld

Yes, that's right. I'm reccing gen. Wow. That's new. But this is just an unbelievably apt character portrait, specifically of Percy and his actions in the war. It features filling in some of the blanks from Deathly Hallows, which is more or less why it totally owns me. I've been itching to read something like this, and I love the take this person has on Percy and why he is brave. A+++

Carrying On by Anon at the percy_ficathon. Percy/Snape, Percy Gen, Rated R.

Summary: When Percy looks back on this year, all he will say is "I did what I had to do."

Oh, yay! I wanted a fic that filled in what Percy did in his year at the Ministry and here's another one! And this one is so edgy! I'm honestly not completely sold on Percy/Snape, but this fic just wins for the description of the battles scenes at the end. The author's rendition of when Fred dies is just heartbreaking. Oh, Percy Ficathon, how you win at life.

Gen & PG/PG-13 Rated

Parenting, Pancakes, and the Professor by Anon at the percy_ficathon. Percy/Neville, Rated PG.

Summary: Percy has been a single dad ever since he and Penelope divorced six years ago. Now his son, who has just started Hogwarts, writes to his dad three times a week, certain that he must be incredibly lonely. What he doesn't realize is that the cure for that loneliness will be one of his very own professors.

Um, yes, you saw that correctly. It's rated PG. And it's adorable. I love Percy as a dad and Percy/Neville, awwwwww. In all fairness, I know who wrote this one, and I fear if I expound too much I will give-away their identity, lol. Needless to say that this person is getting a very stern eyebrow raise from me for making not mind Ginny in a fic.

Mayhem and the Ministry After the Quidditch World Cup by Anon at the percy_ficathon. Percy/Oliver, Rated PG-13.

Summary: Percy and his brothers and father help the Ministry when the Death Eaters riot after the Quidditch World Cup. Percy runs into an old school crush.

Oh, this was just... superb. The action is just impressive - it is so hard to write, but this person really puts you in the chaos at the Quidditch World Cup. And then the Percy/Oliver is just swoon-worthy. Whoever it is that dropped out leaving this fic orphaned should be so sad they missed receiving such a wonderful story!


Percy/Harry & Percy/Cedric

All of These Memories by Anon at the percy_ficathon. Percy/Cedric, Percy/Harry, Rated R.

Summary: Percy is very, very torn up after Cedric's death.

Okay, wow. Two amazing Percy/Cedric Percy/Harry fics in one fest? Dude. This one is a lot angstier, and I think they really nailed Percy's grief. They're also really good with the little "Percy" details - and that's usually what makes or breaks a Percy fic for me - the little things that you maybe hadn't thought of before, but then you read it and you're like "OMGYES! That is so Percy". This has several of those moments.

Once Upon a Time by Anon for the percy_ficathon. Percy/Harry, Percy/Cedric, Rated hard R.

Summary: Harry persuades Percy to tell him about the first bloke Percy loved.

Written for meeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!! And, woah, did this person really pay attention to my prompts and kinks! Percy/Cedric during the Quidditch World Cup for the win. It's really sweet, especially in the Percy/Cedric bits, and you can't beat Percy/Harry to boot! I'm so pleased and, of course, recommend it!

Learning How Eternity Works by Anon for the percy_ficathon. Percy/Cedric, Rated R.

Summary: Alone in an unfamiliar place, Percy finds his own way.

Okay, wow. What a vivid, imaginative piece. It totally got my imagination going and Percy is just adorable. I don't want to point out too many details without ruining the magic of the story, but needless to say it is adorable. I have an idea of who wrote it and it doesn't surprise me at all that I loved it so much. So far a stand out favourite for me.

Extracurricular Activities by Anon for the percy_ficathon. Remus/Percy, Rated NC-17. Kinks & Warnings: CROSS DRESSING, SPANKING, OBJECT/WAND INSERTION, PROFESSOR/STUDENT

Summary: Percy decides he needs to some very special lessons from Professor Lupin.

So, cross dressing and spanking: not my thing. But Professor/student and OMG HELLO WAND INSERTION. Totally my thing. So much my thing that I loved the whole lot. Dirty and wrong in the best way, and a very nice little dose of porn. Yay.

The Office by Anon for the percy_ficathon. Oliver/Percy, Rated NC-17. Kinks & Warnings: WANKING, OBJECT INSERTION, NON-MAGICAL AU, CRACK

Summary: Percy likes to get to work early and stay late for one particular reason: his proclivity for wanking off to Oliver Wood's office supplies.

Oh, man, crack porn at it's best. Like, I died laughing. Just... read it. It's short and sweet and hot, lolz.

Fear in a Handful of Dust by Anon for the percy_ficathon. Percy/Oliver, Rated R.

Summary: Percy has been struggling with increasingly troubling and disruptive dreams since the Battle of Hogwarts, and now, things are coming to a head.

Dude, intense. Percy has PTSD and Oliver is there to pick up the pieces. I was incredibly impressed by the author's ability to get into Percy's head in those moments when he's out of it, and really put the reader there... but then equally make everything clear again when Percy is better. This is a little darker and more f*cked up than some Percy fics you'll see, but that's what makes it stand out to me. If you're comfortable with mental illness fic, I highly, highly recommend this.
