Author’s Notes: This chapter has been a long time in the making – I've had it plotted for seven months, but modding fests and writing fest fic sidetracked me considerably. This story is now, obviously, AU to Deathly Hallows canon. But you know what? I like my version better :P I wrote the epilogue seven months ago, long before the third, fourth and fifth chapters. So, like JKR, I have been working towards this epilogue. Let's hope it doesn't suck as much :P Thanks to my beta extraordinaire silentauror, to sillyshy for prodding me until I finished this and to lizardspots for illustrating the epilogue.

And let's just hope I've proofread LoM chapter five enough, because I'm going to post it now and then go without internet for a day and a half. I amuse myself. emiime and I were having a chat and she was using the Percy Ficathon mods GTalk account. So everytime she said something, it looked like "Percy" was saying it. Then this happened and I lol'd. Had to share.

What came of it was a love of Wales (helped along by Torchwood), a strange affection for Zacharias Smith and an epilogue written eight months ago that quite foreshadowed where my fandom interest would lie down the road. I am so upset about what is happening I can't even tell you. I really, really, really don't want to leave livejournal. But I've also recently started dabbling in Questionable Content, and it has me worried. In one fic that I Can't Talk About, at least one of the parties involved is underage, according to US law (though I really don't think 16 is a big deal, but whatevs) and I'm also in the hpfamilyfuncest and, ja, hello, it's an incest fest.

But that's what I'm posting about. If you have any interest in reading the entries for hpfamilyfuncest, please go friend join the comm, as it is completely locked down due to the post Strikethrough unsafe LJ environment. It looks like there will be lots of good stuff, especially Weasleycest. And you know I'm a sucker for any story with Percy in it. *cough*

The comm is also being mirrored on Greatest Journal and that one will not be locked, so you can read the stories there (and it's the place the newsletters will have to link to for recs anyway).

And why yes, I am an attention whore and I'm partly pointing this out because I want you to read my story. It may be self-involved, but I honestly think what I wrote was good and I'm proud of it. I am also very sad that not many people will read it because of all the bloody red tape. Damn it.

Speaking of fic, though, I will be posting the final chapter of Life on Mars this weekend, with ART! YES! I GOT A COLLAB ART FROM lizardspots and I am SO HAPPY. I have been bugging her to draw it for the entire seven months that I've had the last chapter planned and love it so, so much. Sorry I kept you all waiting for the ending so long - I feel especially bad because it's not a particularly long part and there's no porn (SO SORRY), it's just, you know, wrapping up all the plot threads, lol. Err, I encourage those who were following it to maybe refresh on the first four parts. But, hey, this is monumental for me: my first finished WIP (all the rest I've posted this year were one-shots).

Fanartists ponderosa121 and elaboration (H/D Hols artist, no!!!!) have been PERMANENTLY SUSPENDED for art that allegedly contained explicit sexual content involving a minor (blah blah blah). No strikethroughs this time - if you try to go to their journal or any post they've made in another comm, you get a blank screen that says this user has been suspended.

I am nqdonne on GreatestJournal. I don't want to move, but of all the LJ-clone journaling sites, I like GJ best. I don't have many friends over there - if you are on my f-list and on GJ, please friend me, or tell me here who you are on there. I think I need to create a full mirror journal. And crap, I HATE their layouts, and that's one of my favourite parts about LJ. Damn damn damn.

As far as H/D Holidays is concerned, I am a layout whore, and I like LJ's interface (God damn it), so the comm will be staying on LJ (and because of the pairing, I don't think we risk ToS violations) even if I have to move.

So what did I do today, this being Harry Potter's 27th birthday?

I celebrated what an awesome American I am and saw Die Hard 4.0. Yes, I know I'm about three weeks behind everyone else, lol. I also saw The Simpsons Movie yesterday (4 pound cinema day, whoo!) and in the case of both films, really enjoyed when I got an "American" joke that no one else did. Oh, idiosyncratic American culture, I <3 you.

So, in exactly one week, I will be home. Touching down in Atlanta, actually, but on US soil in less than a week. It is tres sad, but I also really miss my mother, whom I haven't seen in eight months. She was also ill when I left, so I haven't had proper mom time since November :(

But since I've accepted that I have to leave, I am also very excited to move to Boston and get my career going. I have loved living in London, but hated being a secretary. I need a job that actually relates to what I enjoy doing and what I got my degree in. Forgive me, but this job was WAY beneath my qualifications and I feel kind of brain dead. Though you all benefited, as I can guarantee it is the reason I become so prolific of late. Crap job = lots of porn writing.

So, yes, expect lots of job emo coming up. I hate being unemployed. *dramatic sigh* But this time I'm saying FUCK IT, I am using nepotism. Because when your mother works in your fucking field, no matter how good a school you went to (*weeps for her massive debt*), you gotta use that. *pouts*

I am massively behind on Sectus/Residential pictures, but I will spend the next few days (no internet, boo!) resizing all my photos so I can upload them at the weekend.

Any peeps in Boston: watch out, I'm coming! And plz to be sending job leads my way :P

Yes, yes, I'm getting restless! But mostly every one and their mother is announcing fic fests and I want to throw out some info/dates so people put H/D Hols on their priority list. *selfish*

Go read the info and fill out the poll. I am interested to see who already KNOWS they want to participate. I got a really good feeling about it from Sectus, but I don't know how the majority of fandom is feeling about it.

For my own reference, which H/D fans on my f-list HAVEN'T read DH yet? I'm going to keep the comm references spoiler free for *at least* another week, then under cuts for a while (which will be tough with the sign-up form *headdesk*), but I'd still like to know...

So there have been many murmurings here at Sectus about people wanting to plan post-DH Ficathons. I, obviously, will be doing hd_hols in December, but...
